Energy Transfer Equity, L.p.
Energy Transfer Equity transfers natural gas and other energy resources through its massive pipelines running across the country. The company acts as the general partner of Energy Transfer Partners  (ETP) and Regency Energy Partners. Through these operations, and through Sunoco and Southern Union, the company owns natural gas pipelines all over the country and a crude oil pipeline with the capacity of around 12,300 miles. All in all, Energy Transfer Equity's  family of companies owns 71,000 miles of natural gas, natural gas liquids, refined products, and crude pipelines. In 2015 Energy Transfer Equity agreed to buy Tulsa-based Williams Companies in a $37.7 billion merger, but the deal fell through in 2016.
